A 2m artificial tree has a carbon footprint of 40kg compared to 4kg for a real tree that’s burned after Christmas. Use your fake tree for 10 years and you’re matching those with real trees. Any longer and you’ll create a positive impact 👍🎄
Source real trees as locally as possible and pay close attention to disposal. Any going to landfill release methane (decomposing without access to oxygen). It is better to burn or compost which reduces the carbon footprint by around 80% ✅
If you have the space, consider a potted tree that can live outside the rest of the year 😍
Another great tip which I think is awesome.. is that my brother and his partner use real trees, they had one which they usually put outside for the rest of the year… they have a small yard so it was kept potted and getting a bit too big for its pot… this year they have been given permission to plant this tree in their local park and have purchased a new one this year 👏🏻 I think this is a fabulous idea!! 😍🌲💚💚💚

We tried to plant a potted Christmas tree in our yard 2 years ago and greatly failed. 😦 Apparently, tree planting is not that easy compared to other gardening. I still love that idea, so we will do more research next time (instead of only reading the garden centre’s brochure).
